i-Ware Advantages

The core Product Advantages offered by i-Ware over competing products are:

Exchange 2000 Leverage

i-Ware will leverage Exchange 2000 to dramatically increase functionality and reporting in areas such as contact management, workflow and productivity analysis. In addition to this, data can be extracted from both databases simultaneously to dramatically increase reporting and metrics capabilities.

Standard Microsoft Application Report Writers

i-Ware is based on a standard SQL Server database offering industrial strength with the ease of integration of standard Microsoft applications. i-Ware leverages standard Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word for Windows and PowerPoint to enable fast and flexible report writing. This results in reports that can be effortlessly linked directly into standard corporate reporting, which is usually in these applications. Information can be customized on the fly as easily as ‘Save As’.
Information can also be effortlessly published to the web via these applications enabling data sharing on the Intranet, Extranet and Internet.

Multilingual User Interface

The most visible part of the i-Ware solution, the user interface, is usually "language-dependant". This is composed of two main areas:
  • text on the screen, such as the menu items, text labels, etc
  • dates, numbers and currency.
The i-Ware Resource file contains multiple languages (currently English, Simple Chinese and Traditional Chinese). The language is controlled through the standard Windows Region set up in the standard Windows Control Panel. Additional languages can be loaded on demand.

Ease of Integration

i-Ware is based on standard Microsoft Open Architecture. The SQL Server database is able to be queried via ODBC by Microsoft Office, the standard desktop application suite of most companies.
Information can be imported into i-Ware via the FlexiDriver using applications such as Microsoft Excel.
The n-tier architecture of i-Ware enables the development of customised user interfaces (UI’s) or “skin” layers over the Business and Database objects. Currently, i-Ware has a standard desktop skin utilising a quadrant metaphor and a Web Thin Client skin.
Additional customisation is available through Microsoft Outlook for Customer Relationship Management and Microsoft Office for reporting/publishing of information.

Familiarity of application usage

With additional Development, i-Ware will integrate with Microsoft Outlook to utilise its power of Customer Relationship Management. Microsoft Outlook is a widely used application.
Through ODBC, the widely used Microsoft Office application suite can query the Microsoft SQL Server database.
Low cost of ownership of i-Ware is achieved by the use of Internet Mail for information sharing rather than standard EDI and minimal Internet connection time; the familiarity of use of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to integrate and customise the Mammothsoft solution.
Any organizational/geographical and product hierarchies can be created and maintained. Additionally, the Product Configurator enables the easy creation of definitions, business rules and constraints of components/parts for customised Finished Goods.
As information is exchanged throughout the organizational/geographical hierarchies, visibility and thus, control, of lower layers is maintained.
